REVELATE
A world in balance and equilibrium was the prevailing philosophy, as well as the structure of society, on this continent prior to 1492.
“Revelate” revels in Indigenous culture rising up. The pulsing rhythm is resounding, exploding back into the world – through female sexual energy and power. Rustling layers of mylar create the sound of a continuous ebb and flow in the background.
Olin (motion-change) is the Nahuatl word given to the natural rhythms of the universe - ocean tides, earthquakes, volcanoes, labor contractions, beating hearts, the cadence of our breath. Indigenous cultural foundations, based on respect and balance with nature, were buried by the white noise of patriarchal colonialism. That rhythm of a world in balance is here now.
It has always been here.
