Cherokee homelands were invaded by de Soto’s expedition in the mid 1500’s. Our culture was impacted early in the colonization of the Western Hemisphere. Myths, customs, social structure - our worldview – has been denigrated and disrupted for almost five centuries.

Indigenous matrilineal societies were predominant across the Americas, and that cultural construct was among the first elements of our communities to be misinterpreted, then assaulted (the systems, as well as the women). Matrilineal traditions still prevail in tribal communities, providing core strength to our people.
“REVVV” revels in a future of Indigneous Culture - rising up, being heard, being felt, exploding into the world – through female sexuality and power.
